Sandfly fever

Sandfly fever is caused by Phleboviruses of the Bunyavirus family and trnsmitted by sandflies (phlebotomus).

Sandfly fever is a self-limiting fever with nausea and vomiting, epigastric pain and severe headache. After an incubation period of 2 to 6 days, it usually lasts 2 to 3 days but can persist for a week with complete recovery.
