Medium-sized pulmonary embolus
A medium-sized pulmonary embolus, if it occurs with infarction causes:
- pleural pain, haemoptysis, effusion, hyperventilation, fever
- a chest radiograph which may show segmental collapse or consolidation
If there is no infarction then this condition may be silent.
