Herpesviruses

Herpesviruses are double stranded DNA viruses with an envelope and with cubic symmetry. They range in size from 150 to 200 nm and include:

  • herpes simplex virus
  • varicella zoster virus
  • cytomegalovirus
  • Epstein Barr virus
