In addition to diagnostic tests, other investigations may reveal a haemolytic anaemia, thrombocytopenia and leukopenia, mildly raised transaminases and bilirubin. Urinalysis may reveal haemoglobinuria and proteinuria. In severe disease there may be hypoxia and a chest X-ray should be performed.
Assymptomatic individuals may have normal findings on routine investigation.
Lyme disease serology should also be performed.
