Antileprotic agents
Until recently, when resistance became a problem, leprosy was treated with one drug - Dapsone. Now however two or three drugs are used in combination depending on whether the patient is suffering from multibacillary leprosy (lepromatous, borderline lepromatous or borderline leprosy) or paucibacillary leprosy (borderline tuberculoid, tuberculoid and indeterminate);
- multibacillary:
- rifampicin
- dapsone
- clofazimine
- paucibacillary:
- rifampicin
- dapsone
