Romanowsky stains
Romanowsky stains are a number of stains used for microscopical examination of blood cells. The staining characteristics of each cell are a traditional means of classification. Types of stain include:
- Giemsa
- Leishmann
- Wright
All have similar components of eosin and a thiazine dye.
