Distal occlusive vascular disease i.e. involving the tibial and dorsalis pedis arteries, is usually treated as for an in-situ femoro-popliteal artery bypass. The long saphenous vein is anastomosed to the common femoral artery above, and to either the tibial or the dorsalis pedis artery below.
