Lymphocytes of T cell origin are seen in 1% of patients with CLL.
Patients tend to be younger than those with B cell CLL and lymphadenopathy less prominent. Circulating lymphocytes have abundant cytoplasm with azurophilic granules and T cell markers.
Treatment is largely ineffective compared to B cell CLL with consequent poorer prognosis.
