Authoring team

Headache is a common symptom of depression.

The clinical features are very similar to a tension headache. The pain is described as a pressure like a band around the head or over the vertex.

The patient may complain of more severe pain in the mornings when the depressive ruminations will be most severe.

Treatment of the headache consists of simple analgesia and treatment of the underlying depression.
