BSG risk assessment score in GI bleeds
The BSG risk score depends on:
- age
- degree of shock
- co-morbidity
- underlying gastrointestinal diagnosis
- stigmata of recent haemorrhage
The probability of a rebleed and the expected mortality rate may be calculated according to the BSG risk assessment.
