Colestipol is an anion-exchange resin used in the treatment of hypercholesterolaemia.
Colestipol works by binding bile acids in the gut and preventing their reabsorption.
The starting dose is 5-10 g per day. If required, the dose may be increased, over several months, to 30 g in split doses per day.
