Immediate treatment
Immediate management is basic life support.
Notes:
- Emergency laryngotomy may be sometimes considered:
- for cases where foreign body is impacted in larynx
- preferable to tracheotomy in non-specialist hands as the cricothyroid membrane is more superficial than the trachaea
