Dosage

Tiagabine should be started at 5 mg twice per day.

The dose is gradually increased to the usual maintenance dose of 15-30 mg per day - although patients taking enzyme-inducing drugs may need more (30-45 mg per day) (1).

Doses should be taken three times per day when the total daily dose exceeds 30 mg. Taking food at mealtimes may reduce side-effects.
