Antibody measurements are not indicated routinely.

Specific antibodies to thyroid peroxidase and to thyroglobulin:

  • are common in Grave's disease
  • are found in up to 15% of normal females and 5% of normal males (1)

TSH receptor antibodies are diagnostic of Graves disease but are not measured routinely.
