Clinical features
Clinical features include:-
- pain over the medial tibia, at first after running
- later, during running
- when severe even climbing stairs can be painful
- associations:
- often pain worse in the morning
- improper footwear
- exercising on a hard surface, uneven terrain
- pes planus
- clinical examination:
- pitting oedema may be present over the affected area
- pain on palpation during both rest and exertion
