Mometasone furoate is a potent topical corticosteroid. It may be used for severe inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema and psoriasis.
Little of the drug is absorbed systemically. It is applied in a once-daily dose that appears to be at least as effective as other potent corticosteroids which are applied more frequently (1).
