McBurney's incision is an abdominal incision in the right lower quadrant. It runs obliquely through McBurney's point, generally perpendicular to the line connecting the umbilicus and the right anterior superior iliac spine. As it tends to follow the Langer's lines of skin tension, it is renowned for providing good cosmesis.
Classically, it is used for access to the inflamed appendix.
