Leukotriene B4 is a metabolite of LTA4 with a variety of inflammatory-type effects in keeping with its key site of production, the neutrophil:

  • neutrophil aggregation, adhesion to venules and chemotaxis
  • plasma exudation
  • stimulation of phospholipase A2
