Benign gastric and duodenal ulceration:

  • 150mg morning and night or 300mg at night
  • for 4-8 wks (up to 6 wks in chronic episodic dyspepsia)
  • in NSAID-associated ulceration use for up to 8 wks
  • higher healing rate may be achieved with 300mg bd 4 weeks
  • maintenance 150mg at night Reflux oesophagitis: 150mg bd or 300mg at night
  • for up to 8-12 wks
  • if moderate to severe, 150mg qds for up to 12 weeks
  • long-term treatment of healed oesophagitis, 150mg bd Other indications:
  • NSAID prophylaxis: 150mg bd
  • H.Pylori: see link
  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: 150+ mg tds (up to 6g/day)
  • Obstetric prophylaxis of aspiration: 150mg 6-hourly Child dose: 2-4mg/kg bd, max 300mg/day Pack sizes: 150mg x 60, 300mg x 30 OTC: 75mg tabs for short-term symptomatic relief only.
