Sensorineural hearing loss may be inherited or acquired. Acquired hearing loss may be divided into prenatal or postnatal.
Note, in sensorineural hearing loss, Rinne's test shows that air-conducted sound is louder than bone-conducted sound. In Weber's test the noise is lateralized to the less affected ear.
