Parasagittal meningioma
Parasagittal meningiomas tend to irritate and compress the areas of the primary motor and sensory cortex concerned with lower limb function.
Features include:
- seizures or pyramidal weakness in the leg which may progress to bilateral leg weakness if the lesion extends through the falx
- homonymous hemianopias from posterior parasaggital lesions
- impairment of memory, intellect and personality from anterior parasagittal tumours, which may progress to dementia
