Clinical features
The clinical features of angiofibromas include:
- nasal obstruction
- purulent nasal discharge
- frequent epistaxis, often unilateral
- conductive hearing loss due to compromise of Eustachian tube function
Extension of the tumour causes:
- cranial nerve palsies as the skull base is infiltrated
- facial discomfort and swelling as the anterior nasal cavity, ethmoid sinuses and maxillary sinuses are infiltrated
