- increased concentration of clotting factors II, VII, IX, X
- increase in platelet aggregation
- decreased antithrombin III concentration
The combined effect is one of increased thrombogensis. It may be responsible for the mildly elevated risk of thrombosis with the oral contraceptive pill.
