Epidermal burn

Authoring team

Epidermal burns are typically erythematous or bright pink in colour. They are painful and as such, adequate analgesia should be a pre-requisite to dressings.

There is no particularly favoured dressing. Moisturising creams limit dessication. No dressings are adequate but the patient should be encouraged to avoid sun exposure to the burn.
