Head and neck symptoms
- ask the patient about the following features:
- sore throats
- nasal symptoms (e.g. blockage, discharge)
- mouth pain
- voice changes
- breathing difficulties
- skin lumps
- ulcers that have recently changed size
- common sites for neoplasms are the
- skin
- mouth
- nose
- larynx and pharynx
- it is common for a head and neck cancer to present with metastases in lymph glands, but, is not usually associated with general malaise and loss of weight.
