Sebaceous gland carcinoma
Sebaceous gland carcinoma is a rare tumour of cells differentiating towards sebaceous glands. A subtype occurring around the eyelids has a greater propensity to metastasize; these may originate from Meibomian glands. Treatment is by excision.
While this malignancy is predominant in the head and neck region, it represents a rare malignant skin adnexal tumour typically observed in individuals in their 7th decade of life.
