Isolated limb perfusion
Isolated limb perfusion for malignant melanoma:
- may be indicated if the disease is extensive and confined to one limb
- may be indicated for local recurrence
- uses chemotherapy, particularly under hyperthermic conditions, to provide palliation and limb salvage
- allows very high doses of chemotherapy to be delivered to the melanoma site with no systemic toxicity
