Dosage of intramuscular gold
- 5-10mg initial test dose to exclude hypersensitivity
- Maintenance 20-50mg i.m. weekly
- Reduce frequency of injections to every 2 weeks if response occurs or 3 months have elapsed
- If response continues reduce frequency to monthly
- if no response after 1000mg total dose then stop.
- if no response after 6 months stop treatment
