  • intracerebral - predominantly, hypertensive
  • subarachnoid - predominantly, aneurysmal
  • mixed intracerebral and subarachnoid - usually associated with arteriovenous malformations

Traumatic:

  • extradural - arterial, usually involving the middle meningeal artery
  • subdural - venous, involving cortical bridging veins
