A left ventricular aneurysm usually affects the anterolateral and apical parts of the left ventricle.

Chest X-ray features include:

  • a large heart with a configuration of left ventricular enlargement, or;
  • localized bulge in the border of the left ventricle (may occur apically or laterally)
  • a left ventricular aneurysm may go on to calcify
