Nicotine sublingual tablet

  • the tablet is held under the tongue and dissolves over approximately 30 minutes

  • Nicorette sublingual tablet ('Microtab') releases 2mg of nicotine, of which 1mg is then absorbed via the buccal mucosa

  • 1-2 tablets are used hourly - maximum dose of 40 tablets per day

  • nicotine sublingual tablets may cause mild irritation in the throat and mouth - this declines with use (1)
