Termination of tachycardia
- it is possible to terminate a tachycardia with overdrive stimulation (pacing at a rate which is faster than that of the tachycardia).
- pace termination generally is achieved by pacing at a rate which is 10-50 beats/min faster than the tachycardia.
- overdrive pacing may cause the tachycardia to degenerate into atrial or ventricular fibrillation.
