Palpitations with a strong normal rate are most frequently due to anxiety. The patients understand that when they are anxious they produce more adrenaline which makes their heart beat stronger.

Other causes include:

  • drugs:- - sympathomimetics such as: - adrenaline - ephidrine - pseudoephrine
  • sudden vasodilation
  • exercise
  • perimenopausal vasomotor instability
  • dumping syndrome
