Reduction is not usually necessary. The patient may wear a sling for comfort. The patient should practise active exercises of the shoulder, elbow and fingers.
Fractures of the glenoid are intra-articular and may require fixation. However, because the shoulder is not a weight-bearing joint, early mobilisation is more important than exact restitution of the joint surface.
