The x-ray may show a comminuted fracture of the body of the scapula. If the fracture is in the neck of the scapula then this will be seen and the outer fragment of the scapula will be pulled downwards by the weight of the arm.
Sometimes the site of the fracture may be the acromion or the coracoid process.
