Right inferior lobe (lung)

The right inferior lobe of the lung is divided into five bronchopulmonary segments on the basis of the division of the right superior lobe bronchus into five segmental bronchi:

  • apical or superior bronchopulmonary segment; right bronchopulmonary segment number six - supplied by apical or superior segmental bronchus
  • medial basal bronchopulmonary segment; right bronchopulmonary segment number seven - supplied by medial basal segmental bronchus
  • anterior basal bronchopulmonary segment; right bronchopulmonary segment number eight - supplied by anterior basal segmental bronchus
  • lateral basal bronchopulmonary segment; right bronchopulmonary segment number nine - supplied by lateral basal segmental bronchus
  • posterior basal bronchopulmonary segment; right bronchopulmonary segment number ten - supplied by posterior basal segmental bronchus
