Arthritis mutilans is the most severe of the arthritides associated with psoriasis.
Severe arthritis of the interphalangeal joints (IP), particularly the distal IP joints, results in telescoping of the phalanges. The finger develop "opera glass" deformities.
There may be ankylosis, resulting in rigid, clawed fingers.
