CMC often has an onset in infancy or childhood
the initial affected site is the mouth - however lesions may occur on the trunk, hands, feet and scalp
in general, patients seldom develop deep-seated Candida infections
treatment of candidiasis is with short courses of oral antifungals - relapse of candidiasis is common - remission has been achieved with treatment with oral ketoconazole
