Primary bone tumours are rare. The most common benign types are osteochondomas, giant cell tumours and chondromas. The most common malignant types are myeloma, osteosarcoma, and in children, Ewing's tumour.
Metastatic deposits in bone are more common than primary tumours, especially in those patients over the age of 50.
