The pout or snout reflexes are present in a patient with a bilateral frontal lobe lesion or in those with bilateral corticospinal tract lesions.
They can be demonstrated when stroking or tapping with the tendon hammer over or above the upper lip. This induces a pouting movements of the lips so that they seem to form a snout.
