Supracondylar fracture in children occurs when an outstretched arm breaks a fall.
Healing of the fracture may leave a residual valgus deformity at the elbow. As the child grows, the valgus angle increases, the ulnar nerve is stretched and the symptoms of ulnar palsy develop.
