Types of airway include:

  • nasal cannulae, which deliver 24 to 44% inspired O2
  • face mask, which delivers 40 to 60% inspired O2
  • face mask with reservoir bag to deliver 60 to 100% O2
  • Venturi masks - specific loads of oxygen in chronic airways disease - drive to breathe is hypoxia
