A callosity is a hardened, thickened region of skin in an area subject to recurrent pressure or trauma. The area has reacted with hyperkeratosis. Common sites include the palmar surface of the hand and the plantar surface of the foot. They are often related to occupational exposure.
They are usually not painful and no treatment is required.
