Nicotine nasal spray

  • Nicorette nasal spray consists of 10mg/ml nicotine solution in a small bottle with a mechanical spray device - used via a single spray (delivering 0.5mg of nicotine) into one nostril - nicotine peak plasma concentrations are achieved after approximately 10-15 minutes

  • the maximum dose of Nicorette spray is twice hourly for 16 hours in a 24 hour period

  • possible side effects specific to the nasal spray include irritation of the throat and nose and eye watering (1)
