Congenital breast abnormalities
The breasts are identical in boys and girls until puberty. Growth of the breast then begins in girls at about the age of 10. This growth may begin asymmetrically and may appear to be a breast lump. It should however not be biopsied as there is a risk of damaging the breast bud.
