Treatment in general practice
This is depends on cause.
If threadworm is suspected then treatment with mebendazole.
If clinical examination in an adult reveals excoriation and nil else then treat with a combined steroid / antibiotic / antifungal preparation (e.g. Tri-adcortyl cream) and review.
