Mammary duct ectasia
Mammary duct ectasia refers to dilatation of the large and intermediate breast ducts. It results from the shortening and dilation of subareola ducts as they involute. In a small proportion of individuals excessively dilated ducts may present with a breast lump or nipple discharge.
