Crus (left)
The left crus is characterised by:
- origin on anterior surface of upper two lumbar vertebrae and their intervertebral discs
- fibres interdigitate into one tendon which passes superoanteriorly to merge with the central tendon of the diaphragm
- shorter and thinner than right crus
