Costal pleura
Costal pleura describes the strong and most extensive portion of the parietal pleural membrane that lines:
- the inside of the sternum
- the deep surface of the costal cartilage
- the innermost aspect of the ribs
- the deepest layer of the intercostal spaces
- the lateral margins of the thoracic vertebrae to the level of the bodies
