Glyconeogenesis
Glyconeogenesis is the formation of glycogen in the liver from non-carbohydrate sources such as amino acids and lactate. Essentially, it is the integration of the non-carbohydrate compound into gluconeogenesis to yield glucose-6-phosphate; glucose-6-phosphate is then used for glycogenesis.
